Output Protection & Detection

Picogrid is a device with two outputs, and each output has two parts: a PoE port and a DC port. The voltage level is the same on both the PoE and the DC port.

The first output can provide a maximum power of 1 Amp, split between the PoE and the DC port.

The second output can provide a maximum power of 1 Amp, split between the PoE and the DC port.

If either output tries to draw more power than its limit, it will automatically turn off for a second, then try to turn back on. If the power need is still too high, it will keep turning off and on.

While this is happening, the Picogrid's web application will show a warning that there's an overload problem. It will also send a message to our customer support team and any emails signed up to get updates from the device. Additionally, the Illumience platform will show when the device first noticed the overload.
